In life, the universe does its best to help us learn, sometimes painfully. The markets can be considered to do a similar job in a more limited fashion for us trader folk.
If any single word summed up the teaching of the Universe (markets) it might be 'acceptance'.
It can be a difficult lesson. Many traders hardly notice that there is a lesson to learn, preferring to attempt to impose their ego on the Universe (market).
It is a battle few can hope to win! For some, acceptance will be limited to handling stress and/or financial loss. For others the Universe (markets) will provide unlimited joy and effortless rewards.
There is not one path to acceptance, but the service and spread concepts and also one simple path are outlined on this site. Another route to acceptance is also outlined on this site - namely understanding the odds of persistence. There are many others, but they all boil down to "Respond to the market rather than predict the market."
It turns out that acceptance can be 'easy' once a single common belief of traders is reversed or trading with the odds commences. Acceptance can be more readily viewed through the lens of service.
