My ego makes me say strange things at times such as: • 'paper trading is a waste of time', • 'trading in small sizes gets us into bad habits'. When what I actually mean is probably one or more of: • 'there is no excitement in paper trading', • 'if I learnt something I would have to use discipline to apply it', • 'I have a tendency to get into bad habits without pain to put me right', • 'I need the emotional high of trading with the big boys', • 'I want to run before I can walk', • ... Lessons Learnt My ego is enhanced further when I delude myself this way. Boy, that ego thing is good. My ego knows more tricks than a card sharp.
