	There is no single right trading instrument that fits all needs.     But there are some wrong trading instruments and these are often, it seems, selected by many traders, even some experienced traders. We will take a common enough scenario - a trend follower or momentum player or a trader using a volatility break-out trading style. All the traders in our scenario are trading assuming a high (>55%) persistence but unfortunately many are not fully aware of the significant implications for their profits or losses. Just analysing persistence for a few favourite markets and selecting the market or markets with the higher persistence levels will tend to have a dramatic benefit on their trading results.
