Freezing (inability to take decisions and/or act on them) when your trading methodology or trading system says enter or exit or change or add to your position is a reasonably common problem.
While sometimes difficult to diagnose the source of the problem, work on one of several common root problems generally resolves or moderates the symptoms.
Common root problems include:
• over-trading,
• insufficient confidence in market behaviours being exploited,
• lack of confidence that trading system matches market behaviours,
• lack of trust in your ability to follow your system,
• lack of contingency plans,
• not knowing your risk of ruin,
• history of not taking responsibility for your actions,
• experience of failure.
