Traders are often herd animals - we tend be want to be like other traders but with the latest 'whizzbang'. We can be dedicated followers of fashion to the point where we do what is 'in' rather than what best serves a function. In other words we often seek what we want not what we need.
Have you bought the idea of the latest indicator or the latest release of that expensive graphical software?
Have you forgotten that trading is mostly about price? About buying low, selling higher or selling high, buying lower.
Have you got into predicting the markets not reacting to markets? Predicting is a classic herd behaviour - have you got tools and gadgets and techniques and other crutches that help you predict?
Take a cool hard look at what you do and how you do it, and what is really needed for the job. For example, do you need that expensive graphical interface or that expensive real-time data feed?
Then, even if you think the answers are yes, are you aware that there are many free real-time data feeds on the internet with faster updates than the most expensive data feeds. Similarly there are many free graphical services that come with the free real-time feeds.
